I am a medical graduate from Colombia and have been practicing in the States since 2004. Originally moved to Houston, TX where I completed my formation as an Internist and Rheumatologist at Baylor College of Medicine, in 2014 moved to the DMV area to work at the National Institutes of Health where I obtained education and experience in the diagnosis and treatment of autoinflammatory diseases at NHGRI and as part of the Rheumatology Faculty group at NIAMS obtained experience in the diagnosis and treatment of complex rheumatological conditions both in pediatric and adult patients. I Have numerous peer reviewed publications in the most impactful journals of medicine and rheumatology and have been a presenter at multiple academic rheumatology meetings.
I joined Annapolis Rheumatology, LLC in 2020 and opened the initial Virginia branch of the practice in the Fairoaks Hospital Campus where I offer premium patient-based rheumatological care.
My practice is based on the principles of listening to my patient, performing a thorough physical examination, and pursuing a proper diagnosis that will allow me to offer a personalized therapeutic approach. As a patient with an autoimmune disease myself and belonging to a family with a strong autoimmunity pedigree, I am keenly aware of all implications of having a chronic condition and focus on treating my patients as I would like to be treated.
I see patients at our location in the Fair Oaks Hospital Campus in Fairfax, Virginia.
